Description
DABCO® TMR 2 is a tertiary amine that promotes the polyisocyanurate reaction (trimerization). It provides a uniform and controlled rise profile
compared to potassium based catalysts. DABCO® TMR 2 is used in rigid foam applications where improved flowability compared to DABCO® TMR
catalyst is required. It can also be used in flexible moulded foam applications for back end cure.
Special properties/Highlights
Strong trimerization catalyst
Improved curing
High isocyanate conversion
Tailors system reactivities
Provides more delayed action than DABCO® TMR catalyst
Application
DABCO® TMR 2 is suitable for all types of polyisocyanurate foam systems. It is typically used in combination with a polyurethane-type catalyst, such as POLYCAT® 8 or DABCO® R 8020. A typical starting point employs 2.0 php of DABCO® TMR 2 and 0.8 php of POLYCAT® 8. DABCO® TMR 2 can also be used in combination
with other members of the DABCO® TMR catalyst family (DABCO® TMR, DABCO® TMR 3 and DABCO® TMR 4) to tailor system reactivities to meet specific needs.
DABCO® TMR 2 is somewhat delayed compared with DABCO® TMR, and initially more reactive than DABCO® TMR 3. DABCO® TMR 4, in particular, was specifically designed to enhance the flowability of isocyanurate systems.

Recommended storage conditions
DABCO® TMR 2 has a shelf life of 24 months from the date of manufacture and under the condition, that it is stored in factory-packed containers and protected against
extreme weather conditions, particularly against heat and moisture.
The optimum storage temperature of DABCO® TMR 2 is in between 10 °C and 30 °C. Lower and higher storage temperatures are not preferable and should be avoided.
